An engineering company has strengthened its sales team to achieve its aim of becoming market leaders in the area.
Forth, based in Flimby, near Maryport in Cumbria, has appointed a new Commercial Manager and recruited an experienced Sales Field Representative to develop its Trade Counter, which supplies tools, services and equipment to workers across all industries as well as to the public.
Scott Mattinson joins the team as Commercial Manager after honing his skills in the motors industry and within the advertising department at media brands Cumbrian Newspapers Group and Newsquest Cumbria, while new Sales Field Representative Richard Gilmour brings with him 20 years of sales experience in the motor trade.
The recent appointments will boost the engineering company’s presence in the market and make it a real driving force in the area.
Scott said: “Forth is a very forward-thinking and ambitious company which wants to expand its commercial and sales team, and it is a perfect fit for me as I too have clear ambitions.
“Everybody at Forth pulls in the same direction and everybody works to the maximum of their abilities. We intend to make the Trade Counter and the company as a whole the best in the area.
“I bring a tenacity to the company which I have developed through the cut and thrust world of the motors and the newspaper industry, and I have skills which I can adapt to Forth and make sure we keep pushing on and getting our brand better known.
“We’re not going to rest on our laurels and we are continuously adding new stock and ranges to what we offer, and our goal is to ensure we offer the best service to meet our customers’ needs.”
Scott welcomed Richard to the team and says he has the skill sets to develop Forth as a commercial brand.
Scott said: “Richard and I already have a wealth of contacts from previous roles, but we have the hunger and enthusiasm to develop and build contacts throughout the area.
“Richard has a wealth of experience in a demanding car sales environment and certainly knows how to get the best deal for his customers.”
Having worked in the motor trade for 20 years, Richard is enjoying his new role with Forth, and is excited about the potential growth of the commercial team.
Richard said: “I am out on the road a lot working with new customers and also existing customers of Forth, checking to make sure they get the service they deserve. I have many contacts I have developed over the years, and it’s good to reconnect and also to get out and speak to new potential clients.
“There are no limits to where we can take the company and the Trade Counter in particular, and we are intending to provide a broader scope and greater variety of products to our clients.
“When I came for the interview at Forth, the place blew my mind and it is amazing to see the unbelievable work they carry out here every day. I am glad to be part of such a fantastic team.”
Forth’s headquarters are in Flimby, near Maryport, Cumbria, and its Trade Counter is on the same site.
The main offices are complemented by the company’s warehouse which includes a state-of-the-art deep water pond facility which is used by firms across Europe to trial new innovations.
The company also has bases in Barrow-in-Furness and Cleator Moor.
