AN award-winning engineering solutions business is offering a rare opportunity to join the company in a senior position as part of its ongoing expansion.
Forth is in its 25th year of delivering solutions to industry challenges, and is looking for a manager with technical expertise to join its Barrow operation where business is booming on the back of a growing order book at BAE Systems, and in the supply chain across Furness.
Having recently launched Forth Fabrications to support BAE Systems’ submarine division and other industries across the region, Forth is looking for further talent to help its business to grow further.
Forth opened its first Barrow facility five years ago and is now looking for an experienced individual with the technical capability to support the senior leadership team.
The new recruit will also work at a level which links all Forth’s operations across its bases at Flimby, Cleator Moor and Barrow – to maximise the diversity and strengths of the whole business.
Mark Telford, Forth’s Managing Director, said: “Forth’s success and the thriving industries in Cumbria – at both BAE Systems and Sellafield Ltd and their supply chains – means we can offer exciting opportunities right across our business.
“This individual will have the vision to see how all our expertise across all our operations which serve a diverse range of industries, best come together to further enhance our high quality of service to our clients.
“Forth attracts people who want to make a positive impact and directly influence the success of the business and the wider community.
“We want to create an environment where the team can feel fulfilled by being a part of something bigger than the 9-5, seeking out opportunities that put Forth at the heart of the community.
“As well as delivering effective solutions, we strive to make a difference in all the communities where we operate and are very proud to have received a range of awards and recognition for our community involvement work.
“There’s no shying away from the fact that working for an SME is hard work, but there are people who enjoy and thrive on the challenges we face and solve. The rewards are also there for them, as well as the job satisfaction of knowing what a positive difference they make.
“Businesses like ours are unlikely to suit those who want to work for the big corporate organisations. That probably wouldn’t be the right fit for them or for us.
“But there are plenty of people out there with the capability, the attitude and the mindset which is perfectly aligned to the opportunities we offer, and which fit the culture of a dynamic SME business.
“Those are the people who will help drive businesses like Forth forward and we are excited about what the future holds with so much opportunity in the supply chain across Cumbria.
“We know that the major organisations are recruiting in big numbers. So those of us in the supply chain need to offer something different to attract the right people.
“If there are people stuck in a rut in their role, or they want to fastrack their career, then we have a rare opportunity to come into the business at a senior level and be based within our Barrow team.
“We are also recruiting for a financial controller in West Cumbria among many other career opportunities, as the business continues to go from strength to strength.”
Forth operates in the nuclear, oil and gas, renewables and other advanced manufacturing sectors.
The business differentiates itself by creating bespoke, purpose-built solutions for highly regulated and safety-critical environments, specialising in designing and manufacturing engineering solutions to remove the need for humans to work in hazardous environments.
Known for its quality of work, and built on more than two decades of providing tried, tested and trusted safe solutions to the highly-regulated nuclear industry, the Forth team know the importance of working safely, quickly and delivering value-for-money solutions for the customer.
Rob Sneesby, Forth’s Operations Manager in Barrow, said: “We want to be the first name on people’s lips when they think about engineering solutions, fabrication, mechanical testing and installation and be the first company they come to for solving engineering problems.
“On the back of the government’s Barrow Transformation Fund announcement, the region will continue to thrive as a hub for engineering solutions, and we want the right candidate in place to be a part of these exciting times.”
Forth won Best Community Involvement at the in-Cumbria business awards in November. It has picked up an array of awards and accolades during more than 24 years in business.
