The rapid growth of wind power has increased the demand for regular turbine inspections. Currently, many blade inspections are performed manually by engineers using rope access, a method both costly and subject to safety risks. Poor maintenance can result in approximately 3,800 turbine blade failures each year, significantly impacting operational efficiency and financial performance.

Our innovative RADBLAD robotic system addresses these challenges. This pioneering lightweight, portable robot—with each module weighing less than 25kg—enables faster, safer, and more cost-effective surveys without endangering human lives.

RADBLAD uniquely employs radiographic-based in-situ inspection, artificial intelligence (AI) software for automatic defect detection, and a modular robotic structure. These features allow early identification of internal blade defects systematically and safely, significantly reducing risk to human operators and maintenance costs.
